Lauren’s passion for movies began at a very young age and she has been working in the entertainment industry since the beginning of her career. As a college student she spent her summers in New York interning for companies like 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers and The Sundance Channel before accepting her first full time job with Alliance Films in 2009. With digital advertising just emerging, Lauren’s strategic vision dove the company head first into utilizing digital and social media to market film properties. In her 4 years at Alliance Films (which was bought by eOne in 2013) she led the digital campaigns for over 100 movies annually from independent darlings like The Artist and The King’s Speech to franchise powerhouses like The Hunger Games and Resident Evil. In 2013 she was invited to be part of the select team at Rogers Communications responsible for the launch of Shomi. Lauren was involved in the extensive competitive analysis of Netflix and led the digital and social go to market consumer launch plans.
In 2015, following a lifelong dream, Lauren moved to Los Angeles, California after landing her current role with Focus Features. She has overseen the social media campaigns for all their films including The Danish Girl, London Has Fallen, Kubo and the Two Strings and most recently Loving. The same year as moving to LA Lauren was named by Canada’s Marketing Magazine as one of their top 30 under 30 marketers.
